Current Ad Reservation Deadline: Feb. 15, 2012
for space in CQ's Dance Directory & Ad Supplement, Vol. 37 no. 2, published in May 2012 covering events and programs from June 2012 through January 2013.

This issue will include:

  • a Dance Directory of dance schools and programs (academic & independent) that offer new dance and somatic approaches to dance training worldwide, listings from 60 to 100 words.
  • Display Ads in a variety of sizes and prices (same dimensions as the CQ magazine).
  • Dance Map/Classified Listings for dance-related services & products, publications, workshops and events, studios and retreat centers, job opportunities, and more, listings from 60 to 100 words (also automatically listed online).
The Dance Directory & Ad Supplement will be mailed with CQ's 2012 chapbook (Vol. 37 no. 2). Dance Directory and Dance Map listings will also be posted on CQ's website.

Important Note: We cannot guarantee space for ads that are not reserved by the reservation deadline or that do not reach us by the artwork submission deadline.

Proofreading :
Proofread your ad carefully for spelling, dimensions, and contact and date information. We will also proof the ads, but cannot be responsible for inaccuracies submitted to us.

What to send us :
Please send your ad as an Adobe Acrobat Distiller-generated .pdf format email attachment. Generate the .pdf with the following specifications:
* all fonts embedded
* press ready
* grayscale

We prefer a .pdf file but, alternatively, you can send us a 300 dpi photo or 800 dpi line art high quality .tiff scan of your original as an email attachment.

If file conversion or ad design is a problem, you can contact us and we can refer you to a good, reasonably priced fee-for-service outside designer.

In the subject line of your email with attachment to us, please put "ad" and your organization/event name. For example "Subject: Harbin west coast jam ad."

Also, please name the .pdf file attached to the email as "myorganizationevent35-2.pdf," where 35-2 is the current CQ volume and issue number. For example "wcoastjam35-2.pdf" or "hawaiilaban35-2.pdf." Try to distinguish your event clearly when using common terms such as "jam," "class," or "bodywork."

Ad Renewals :
If you are renewing your old ad with no changes of any kind, we can use our archive; otherwise, you must submit a new ad. Please make sure to reserve your ad even if it is a renewal of your old ad; we cannot guarantee space for ads that miss the reserve deadline.

Contact Information :
Include an ad contact person with phone number and email address. Also include a billing contact person (email and/or phone, with a regular mailing address if a snail mail invoice is necessary).

 

 
DANCE MAP CLASSIFIEDS :

Our Dance Map listings appear in the annual magazine in January, in our ad supplement in May, and on our website. (Go to Dance Map for examples.) We prefer that you send Dance Maps as simple unformatted text within an email to cqads@contactquarterly.com. You can also send your Dance Map by fax (413-586-9055) or by regular mail to Contact Quarterly, PO Box 603, Northampton, MA, 01061.

Word Count? How many words is a long URL? Or a phone number? Our general rule is to count seven (7) characters as a word, so if you have something like http://dancetillyoudrop.com that would be 27 characters, or 4 words. We'll leave it up to you to make the final count and to send us the correct payment. Thanks!

CQ's Dance Directory is the place to find dance programs worldwide that offer concentrated study in dance, including contemporary dance, improvisation, and somatic approaches to training and performance. Add your program to the 60+ current listings of schools and programs (academic and independent). The Dance Directory is published IN PRINT and ONLINE annually in May. Miss the deadline? We can add your listing to the online directory anytime. Please inquire.
